The actress was released from an in-patient treatment facility in December
Amanda Bynes stepped out with her parents on Friday looking as happy and healthy as ever.
The actress – who was hospitalized and sent to an in-patient treatment facility after a public meltdown last July – was attending an event at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in L.A., where she is now enrolled.
“#FIDMDEBUT” she tagged the pics, which showed her wearing a black top and high-waisted trousers.
With her blonde hair styled in loose curls, the 27-year-old posed with her parents.
“Debut showcases the work of students in the advanced program. Everyone from current students to industry professionals attends,” Sydney Taylor, a second year student who was at the event, tells PEOPLE. “Amanda looked beautiful and is so sweet. She was being very discreet about being there but smilingly hugged anyone who asked to meet her.”
“Amanda looks like she’s getting back to normal,” added Siera Parker, another guest. “She looked good and was being friendly.”
Bynes’s mother, Lynn, remains in indefinite control over her daughter’s well-being and finances after being granted a conservatorship when the troubled star was placed on an emergency psychiatric hold last August.
She is staying with her parents as she continues outpatient treatment and studies fashion and is “very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared,” Lynn’s attorney told PEOPLE upon her release from the Malibu treatment facility in December.
