“Is it too late now to say sorry I’m not sorry?”

Justin Bieber might just be the most apologetic pop star in the history of pop stars, but he also isn’t sorry a lot too, if that makes any sense.

Let’s take a look.

That time he was sorry about all the not-so-great things he’s done …

“The things that I’ve done really don’t really define who I am. I am a kind-hearted person who loves people, and through it all, I lost some of my best qualities. For that, I’m sorry.”

But he also wasn’t that sorry.

“If I could go back, I wouldn’t really change much. I think it’s all my journey. That stuff made me who I am.”

That time he was sorry about getting kicked out of a Mayan archaeological site in Tulum after pulling down his pants.

“It’s like a last-second thing: They go to take a picture, and I just turn [around] … but yeah, you know, clarifying that, you know, to the Mayan people or whatever, whoever was … felt any disrespect, I’m truly sorry for that. I never meant to disrespect anybody.”

But also wasn’t that sorry.

“I guess [the guards] thought that I was being disrespectful to the site or whatever. That’s not what I was doing. I immediately was like, ‘Man, I didn’t mean any disrespect …’ but they weren’t really having it.”

That time he was sorry about his reckless behavior.

“I feel like that’s why I have a relationship with Him, because I need it. I suck by myself. Like, when I’m by myself, and I feel like I have nothing to lean on? Terrible. Terrible person. If I was doing this on my own, I would constantly be doing things that are, I mean, I still am doing things that are stupid, but …”

But not, like, super, super sorry, because growing up is hard.

“There was a lot of feelings going on in there, just being young and growing up in this business. It’s hard. Growing up in general is hard.”

That time he was sorry about storming off a stage in Norway.

“For the people in the back, I am so sorry, and for anyone I may have disappointed, I’m sorry. Sorry for wasting the TV people’s time. I’ll be sure to make it up to you next time on tour.”

But also wasn’t the most sorry.

“Sadly, it’s been a rough week for me, long days, no sleep, while having to be ‘on’ as they would say for cameras, fans, etc. In no way did I mean to come across mean, but chose to end the show as the people in the front row would not listen.”

That time he apologized for posting a pic of his bare butt on Instagram.

“To anyone I may have offended, I’m so sorry.”

But was pretty much not sorry.

“I deleted the photo of my butt on Instagram not because I thought it was bad, but someone close to me’s daughter follows me, and she was embarrassed that she saw my butt.”

And finally: That time he was really, truly, truly sorry.

“I hope people felt the sincerity in my apologies. There are a lot of things that have happened in the last couple years that I’m not proud of, and I feel a responsibility to my fans and to the public who believe in me to make it right.”
