We were offered our first glimpse at the whole genetically gifted clan in December 2016 as Reynolds received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. As expected, the family, including daughters James, 2, and her 3-month-old sister, whose name has yet to be revealed, were almost too cute to handle.

As his star was unveiled, the actor shared a heartwarming - and characteristically funny - message for his wife: "You are the best thing, the best thing that has ever happened to me - second only to this star. … You make everything better, absolutely everything in my life better. You've made me the father of my dreams when I thought I only had fun uncle potential."

Later on Instagram, Lively responded by congratulating him on the career milestone. "Proud is a pitiful word to describe how I felt today. @vancityreynolds The permanence of your impact is undeniable …Always has been, but now we have a fancy [star] to show for it," she wrote.

The couple has remained mum about their surprise 2012 nuptials, but the few details we have about their special day point to it having been a true fairy tale affair. They traded vows at Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina during an "intimate" and "rustic" ceremony, according to Martha Stewart Weddings. "From the heartfelt ceremony to the fun-filled carnival hour and elegant reception, it was a truly enchanting celebration," the magazine reported.

The actress revealed why she decided to marry Reynolds to Marie Claire in June 2016. "I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life. That was the biggest thing to me," she said. "I'd never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him." She went on to share, "A best friend just makes you happier. You can go from being silly to opening up and being vulnerable. You're surrounded by comfort in sad, painful times. And that's what matters."

When she took on the shark attack thriller The Shallows, Reynolds was there to encourage her training for the physically demanding shoot: "He helped me remember that this isn't just an acting challenge, this film, but it really is a physical feat. I had to be prepared for it being an athletic event, not just a film."

During Entertainment Weekly's SiriusXM Deadpool special, Reynolds recalled feeling sparks with Lively on their first date - which they were not on with each other. "A year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date - [Blake] was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl - and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across," he recounted. "We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends."

The pair's best efforts to stay quiet about the sex of their second child were squashed by the actors not-so-subtle hints. First, he posted a tweet referencing his "daughter's" crib, and then he totally spilled the beans during a Novemebr Conan appearance when he joked about their being "a lot of estrogen" in his house. But Reynolds quickly earned forgiveness for the slip-up in the sweetest way possible. "The ways I know that @vancityreynolds got himself into huge trouble on @teamcoco tonight," Lively captioned a photo of a treats on Instagram. "Not only did he come home with my true love, @levain_bakery cookies, but he personally toasted them for me and brought me a cup of milk WITH ICE. 😍 Literal brownie points."
