PEOPLE previously reported that Alexis was was surrounded by her family when she passed away.
“She had been suffering for a long time. She was sick for years,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “At one point, she wasn’t able to leave the house; she was in bad shape. … Everyone knew [her death] was imminent. It was a matter of time.”
“The whole family rallied around her,” added the source. “And in the end they were always there to support her.”
