Ailing Dolly Parton Postpones Tour

Back problems – due, in part, to her famous figure – have sidelined the singer

Dolly Parton has been forced to postpone her upcoming tour because of a serious back ailment, the country crooner confirmed on her blog.

Doctors have advised the iconic performer – famous for her bleach-blonde hair and hourglass figure – to take six to eight weeks off, she says.

“Hey, you try wagging these puppies around fro a while and see if you don’t have back problems,” the 61-year-old said of her legendary bust.

Parton’s tour, in support of the Feb. 26 release of her new album Backwoods Barbie, was set to being Feb. 28 in Minneapolis. Dates for all shows will be rescheduled for late April through May.

“I know I have been breaking my neck and bending over backwards trying to get my new Backwoods Barbie CD and world tour together, but I didn’t mean to hurt myself doing it …,” she wrote on the blog. “Seriously though, the doctors said I will be good as new in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to get back out there.”
