Ben Affleck, currently co-starring as the egotistical actor in “Shakespeare in Love,” has signed to star in the thriller “Reindeer Games” for veteran director John Frankenheimer (“The Manchurian Candidate”). Variety reports that Affleck will play an ex-con who becomes involved in a plot to rob a casino. In March he will be onscreen opposite Sandra Bullock in Dreamworks’ “Force of Nature.” Later this year he will appear in “Daddy and Them,” which was written and directed by Billy Bob Thornton, who also stars. Meanwhile, Affleck does not seem to be lonely following his split from ex-squeeze Gwyneth Paltrow (the Golden Globes best comedy actress, with whom he was sitting at the Sunday evening award ceremony). New York’s Daily News reports that at the current Sundance Festival Ben has plenty of female companionship.
