The 6.1-carat-pink-diamond engagement ring is reacquired by jeweler Harry Winston
Everyone knows where Jennifer Lopez wound up after her relationship with Ben Affleck went bust: walking down the aisle with singer Marc Anthony. But what happened to The Ring?
The 6.1-carat-pink-diamond stunner from Harry Winston that Affleck gave to Lopez was recently reacquired by the jeweler – just in time for Valentine’s Day. While Affleck paid $1.2 million for the jewel in 2002, today’s price is available on request.
Meanwhile, there also has been speculation that Affleck, 32, is getting ready to place a ring on Alias star Jennifer Garner’s left hand. A school pal of Garner’s tells PEOPLE the couple could get engaged as soon as Valentine’s Day. “It’s my understanding that he’s going to give her a ring,” says the friend, who adds, “I don’t know for sure.”
One thing is for sure: The lovebirds haven’t tried to hide their seven-month-long romance. Garner, 32, recently showed up on the set of Affleck’s latest project Man About Town to spend time with her beau.
“Between takes, they were smiling and holding each other,” one observer tells PEOPLE. “They didn’t seem to care (that people were watching). They looked really happy, looking into each other’s eyes.”
While Affleck’s onscreen career has taken some hits, he is doing just fine in the off-screen role of romantic leading man. He and Garner are “like high school sweethearts,” says a source. “They’re very lovey-dovey.”
