Quirky Law & Order: Criminal Intent actor Vincent D’Onofrio was taken to a hospital Wednesday after he fainted.

The actor collapsed on location in Brooklyn, New York following a rehearsal of his hit NBC show.

“He is in good spirits, resting comfortably and production on Law & Order: Criminal Intent continues,” a rep for the show’s creator, Dick Wolf, tells PEOPLE.

D’Onofrio, 45, who has also appeared in Full Metal Jacket and Men in Black, had been working on a strenuous scene, which included climbing, before he fainted, according to NBC Universal Television Studio, which produces the program.

The studio says the actor, who stars in the crime drama as police Detective Robert Goren, is expected to be released quickly.
