A new photo has been released of Abigail Kopf, the 14-year-old who was critically wounded when she was shot during a Michigan Uber driver’s shooting spree last month.

The photo, which was published on the family’s GoFundMe page shows Kopf, who was moved from a local hospital to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids on Mach 9, with her little sister laughing in bed.

On Friday, Kopf’s family posted on their GoFundMe page that their “little warrior” spoke her first word: “This little girl loves her pig named Hamlet. Tonight, Abbie spoke her first word. It was ‘pig.'”

“This gives us great hope that she will regain her speech,” they continued. “Let’s hear it for our Warrior!”

According to Mary Free Bed doctors, Kopf is having a smooth recovery.

“She’s in good condition,” Chief Medical Office Dr. Michael Jakubowski tells PEOPLE.

Last week, Kopf, whose injuries were so severe that doctors feared she could be pronounced brain dead – until she squeezed her mother’s hand – took her first step.
