In a match made in music heaven, pop princess Taylor Swift is now dating world-famous DJ Calvin Harris. But how well do you know the man behind hits like Rihanna‘s “We Found Love” and Ellie Goulding’s “I Need Your Love”?
Here are five facts about the Scottish DJ, Adam Richard Wiles:
1. He’s (almost) a giant
Harris, 31, told Ryan Seacrest on an episode of On Air with Ryan Seacrest that he is 6’5¾” and wears a size 13 shoe. When Seacrest called him out for taking care to mention the extra ¾ inch, Harris said it’s a “touchy subject.”
“If I had that other quarter, I would be a certified giant. I would get a certificate, I would have documentation that I could show airport officials, and I would be a giant,” the DJ said.
2. 2014 was his year
According to Forbes, Harris was the highest-paid DJ of 2014, bringing in approximately $66 million. He also had Spotify’s 2014 International Song of the Summer with his aptly named hit, “Summer.” Looks like he’s the perfect counterpart to Swift, who, between being named Billboard‘s Woman of the Year, releasing a quadruple-platinum album and raking in her highest earnings ever, basically owned 2014 in her own right.
3. He collaborates with everybody
Although he has released successful solo tracks like “Feel So Close,” Harris rocketed to mainstream fame with Rihanna’s 2011 hit, “We Found Love,” which he wrote and produced. Since then, he has collaborated with dozens of artists from all across the music spectrum, including Ne-Yo, Ellie Goulding, Florence Welch, Haim and Gwen Stefani. He told Ryan Seacrest that he grew up listening to “every form of music … I get my influences from a lot of different places.”
4. He has his own high-profile list of ex-lovers
Harris has been romantically linked to Goulding, Rita Ora and model Aarika Wolf. But Swift is in good hands – the breakups weren’t nasty: Harris collaborated with Goulding for a second time well after they broke up. And despite rumors that he refused to sign off on Ora’s performance at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards of “I Will Never Let You Down,” a song he wrote and produced, Harris spoke very highly of Ora to Seacrest, saying she is “incredibly talented” and “works insanely hard.”
5. He has the body of a Greek god
Pictures and a video were released in February featuring a stripped-down Harris modeling underwear for Emporio Armani, and let’s just say Justin Bieber‘s Calvin Klein campaign has nothing on this one. He also posted an ab-tastic picture on Instagram and included some tips in the caption: “As long as you don’t drink, eat well, sleep enough and take one of those mad little ab rollers with u everywhere you’ll be good.”
