5 Things to Know About 'Me, Myself & I' Rapper G-Eazy
G-Eazy kicks off his Endless Summer Tour on June 28 in Dallas with pals Yo Gotti, Logic and YG
Talent comes easy when you’re G-Eazy.
The “Me, Myself & I” rapper, 27, is kicking off his 27-city Endless Summer Tour on June 28 in Dallas, Texas. Joined by fellow pals Logic, YG and Yo Gotti, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest tours of the summer.
Here are five things you need to know about the young and accomplished artist:
1. He rolls with the platinum and gold squad already.
G-Eazy – whose birth name is Gerald Earl Gillum – is one of 2016’s biggest breakout hip-hop artists. His track “Me, Myself & I” with Bebe Rexha was the number one song in the country for two weeks straight and is certified platinum. His second album When It’s Dark Out is certified gold.
2. He got his start in a Nor-Cal rap collective.
Before venturing out on his own, young G-Eazy was part of a hip-hop group called “The Bay Boyz” in his native Northern California.
“Hip-hop is what I grew up around,” he says. “It was the music I listened to since I was 7 or 8 years old, and that’s just what my life gravitated to when I was around 14.”
While most kids goofed off, he honed his craft. “I wasn’t as in love with playing basketball as I was with making beats and writing verses.”
3. He’s been schooled – for real.
After graduating high school, the rapper moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola University, where he got his B.A. in Music Industry Studies.
“I made it work,” he says of balancing his school schedule with making music. “Music was and always will be my passion, so everything came second to that. I wasn’t going to stop taking time to make music.”

4. He’s played with perennial pop princess Britney Spears.
The rapper was featured on Britney Spears‘ new single, “Make Me (Oooh),” and the two filmed a music video for their song in early June.
5. He loves himself a nice pair of kicks.
G-Eazy has a pretty insane shoe collection. “Definitely over 100,” he claims. “Retro Jordans, Nikes, Adidas.”
The last pair he bought? Supreme Nike Air Max 98’s.
