The VMAs might be one of the industry's most of-the-moment awards shows, but don't tell that to Taylor, who goes old-Hollywood glam with structured waves and an equally gorgeous ivory DampG dress.
She might not be a recording artist, but the reality star looks mega-platinum in her sequined Isaac Mizrahi minidress and blinged-out accessories, including Jacob amp Company jewelry, Balmain rhinestone sandals and Judith Leiber belts.
The actress certainly stood her own in a black and white bow-tied Giambattista Valli mini with black lace bodice, but her stylish thoughts were with another of the night's stars, admitting on the red carpet, "Lady Gaga's incredible."
Selena might be a popstar, but her look was heavy metal as she strolled the carpet in a floor-sweeping silver Reem Acra gown embellished with floral detailing at the bust and Baccarat jewelry.
"I got the garbage bags from Home Depot and I kind of just put it together," the nominee says of getting crafty with her black plastic frock, which she accented with a trailing braid and can't miss-it jewelry including Charles Albert rings.
Topping her red waves with a sparkling Jennifer Behr crystal headband, Rihanna keeps the rest of her look pure cream, including a tulle skirt and bustier along with jewels from Neil Lane.
