Barbra Streisand is writing a memoir that will reflect on her life and iconic, six-decade-long career as an actress, singer, songwriter and director.
The long-awaited book will be released by Viking in 2017, the publishing company announced Wednesday.
“There are over 50 unauthorized biographies about Ms. Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she is finally going to tell her own story,” Viking president Brian Tart said in a statement. “I am thrilled and honored to be publishing her at Viking.”
The singer’s latest album, Partners, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in September 2014, making her the only artist to have a No. 1 record in each of the last six decades.

Streisand, 73, is one of the few members of the EGOT club, which means she’s won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. (The Tony was an honorary award for her performance in Star of the Decade in 1970.)
At the rate Babs is going, maybe her memoir will earn her a Pulitzer.
