Whitney Way Thore is getting the hard truth about her poor eating habits.

After Thore’s trainer fired her as a client for hiding junk food in her car, Thore’s friend Tal Fish decided to confront her about why she can’t stick to a healthy lifestyle.

“I’m trying to relay to Whitney how difficult it is to break bad habits, but she’s just coming up with a lot of reasons why she can’t do this,” Fish says, exasperated, in an interview in this exclusive clip from Wednesday’s episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. “I’m starting to feel like I’m not going to be a good friend if I don’t play a little devil’s advocate here.”

“You want it, but it’s not happening. What will it take?” Fish asks Thore, referring to her hope to lose weight. “How bad do you want it?”

“To kind of diminish it down to, ‘Well you obviously just don’t want it bad enough,’ it’s a little insulting,” Thore, 31, says.

Thore tries to argue that she has trouble following a diet because she works odd hours on at the radio station, but Fish won’t hear it.

“This is coming from a place of love, but that sounds like a lot of justifications and a lot of excuses,” Fish says. [Will]’s kind of right, there’s things that your still not doing. And you talk about loving yourself, but you’re not demonstrating that deep love for yourself.”

Thore, frustrated, starts sobbing.

“I know Will thinks I’m just not trying hard enough, but like, sometimes I feel like something’s wrong with me,” she says. “Like, what is this part of me that I’m having to fight against all the time? Or like, do I not think that I matter?”

“There is nothing wrong with you,” Fish replies.

He tells Thore that she won’t get anywhere with her weight loss if she continues to feel sorry for herself.

“As long as you’re beating yourself up nothing productive is going to happen,” Fish says. “You are enough. You have everything you need to do this. Maybe it’s time to do this for you and nobody else.”
