First comes weight loss, then comes marriage!
“It’s absolutely amazing. It’s like a party with your best friend every day,” Ronnie, 32, tells PEOPLE.
“It’s so good, it’s so fun,” Andrea, 25, adds.
Marital bliss is something that neither of them believed would ever happen at their heaviest weights — 675 lbs. for Ronnie, and 250 lbs. for Andrea.
“I had no luck. I was depressed, I would stay in my house, I would cry myself to sleep,” Ronnie says of trying to date in those earlier days. “I would always dream of finding love, but nothing.”
Andrea also found dating troublesome. “I didn’t really have much of a love life. If I had someone, it was someone who wasn’t living a healthy lifestyle either, so we would just feed off each other,” she says.
But they found each other in 2015, when Andrea reached out on Facebook after seeing Ronnie at the gym and recognizing him from his 600 Lbs. to Success page, which she says was “inspiring” for someone also on a major weight loss journey.

The pair immediately hit it off — Ronnie says, “it was love at first sight.”
“I knew on our first date that I was going to marry this woman. But before we even hung out, we would sit on the phone and talk to each other for six or seven hours at a time.”
When they started dating, the duo both had more weight to lose before reaching their goal weights, and propelled each other to the finish line.
“We just kind of helped each other through the journey,” Andrea says. “Towards the end we were really each other’s support system, along with our trainers Nick and Jill.”
Now two years into keeping up their weight loss, and almost a month into marriage, they’re continuing to support each other as they maintain, something Ronnie says, “is just as hard as losing the weight.”
Andrea says that having someone in the same boat is “such a dream come true.”
“I never thought that I would find someone who also lived a healthy life,” she says. “Oftentimes, and even before I lost all the weight, I would be like, ‘Oh my god, what if I don’t find somebody who lives the same lifestyle as me? What if I go backwards? I’m scared.’ I think for us, it’s definitely easier to have each other.”
Ronnie agrees, saying that Andrea keeps him accountable, but adds that weight loss is something anyone can do.
“If you implement the right tools and the right strategy and you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything,” he says. “You can lose the weight if you want to lose the weight.”
