A world champion powerlifter, bodybuilder and former Marine is sharing her story on social media after publicly coming out as transgender.

Janae Marie Kroc, formerly known as Matt Kroczaleski, told followers that though she is “still living life in both genders,” she identifies more as female.

“I am both an alpha male and a girly girl; hyper-masculine and hyper-feminine,” Kroc captioned a photo on Instagram. “In a perfect world I could snap my fingers and go back and forth at will but of course that world does not exist.”

The father to three sons is waiting until her children are out of high school before fully transitioning.

“This is one hundred percent my decision not theirs. My sons encourage me to do whatever I need to do and state that they are totally fine with me transitioning now or at any point I see fit,” she wrote. “They are amazing young men and the bond we have is unreal.”

Kroc – who is the all-time world record holder in the 220-lb. class for her 1,003-lb. squat, 738-lb. bench press and 810-lb. deadlift – said on Instagram she underwent facial feminization surgery over a year ago and has been posting photos as Janae Marie Kroc ever since.

“This really isn’t about me being a boy or a girl or something in between,” she said. “This is just about me being me, who I am and who I know myself to be.”
