John Krasinski recently bulked up for his turn as a Navy SEAL in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. And while the results helped him fully get into character, they certainly didn’t hurt Krasinski’s sex life at home, either.

The 36-year-old actor opened up to Elle about how getting in shape changed things in the bedroom with wife Emily Blunt.

“Totally selfishly, it’s so much better for me being jacked because you feel so much more confident and see yourself as this much more sexual person,” he explained. “Which is really fun.”

The former Office star admitted that while Blunt’s love for him isn’t based on his appearance, his new bod doesn’t necessarily hamper things.

“The truth is, she really is that person who would like me any way,” he confessed. “But I don’t think she’s going to kick the eight-pack abs out of bed.”

Krasinski’s transformation from flub to fab happened in just 16 weeks, he previously explained in the January/February issue of Men’s Health.

Luckily, he had trainer Jason Walsh by his side, working out twice a day, five times a week.

“I gotta be honest: It was brutal at times,” he said, of the fat-burning, muscle-adding process. “We did tons of metabolic work, dragging sleds and all this stuff I’ve seen NFL players do.”

But the hard work paid off. “Getting stronger every day is thrilling,” he said. “I think there’s a part of you where you become addicted to it. I love feeling strong.”

And don’t worry – Krasinski won’t let his new physique go to waste. He’s slated to star as CIA operative Jack Ryan in a new action-packed Amazon series.
