It's just empty talk," she says of those who don't approve of her role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Gal Gadot stands behind her Wonder Woman casting – boobs and all.
When Israeli website Ynet asked the 29-year-old actress how she felt about her body being scrutinized after landing the part of the iconic Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, she calmly responded, “Don’t be shy. They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small.”
And Gadot had a very rational response as to why fans should pay no attention to her upper torso when it comes to reprising the role.
“The true Amazons had one boob so it [wouldn’t] bother them with their archery,” she explained while alluding to a popular theory in Greek mythology. (The full interview has been translated from Hebrew via entertainment forum SuperHeroHype.)
She added that there is no reason for fans to fret over the historical context of her character.
“It’s not going to be like real Amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t,” she continued.
Despite her breast size becoming a topic of international discussion, the model confirmed she isn’t embarrassed by the headlines.
“After they asked me here – in Israel – if I have eating disorders and why am I so skinny, that my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick, I can take anything. It’s just empty talk,” she explained. “I understand that part of what I’m doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire.”
So when fans share not-so-nice opinions on social media, the Furious 7 actress reminds herself just how thankful she is for the part in the Man of Steel sequel, in which she stars alongside Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman.
“I get to play the strongest, most empowering woman ever. I’m so grateful and I thank God every day. I want to devour it and enjoy every bite,” she told the site.
The DC Comics movie isn’t all Gadot has in store. On Instagram she revealed another project fit for only a true Wonder Woman – a Gucci fragrance campaign.
