Baby Polites is here!

Fit mom Hannah Polites – who wowed followers with her tiny baby bump – gave birth to daughter Evaliah Grace on Aug. 20.

“Welcoming Evaliah Grace,” Polites, 25, posted on Instagram. “You’re the centre of our universe already baby girl.”

The proud new mom has been Instagramming up a storm, sharing sweet photos of her first child.

Polites, a midwife and lifestyle blogger, dealt with criticism during her pregnancy over her small size, with people accusing her of harming her developing child. But Polites firmly explained that she and the baby are entirely healthy.

“Unfortunately, it’s become common for society to comment on the health of a person simply from their size being different to what they perceive to be normal,” Polites, previously told PEOPLE. “However, I do not take the small amount of negative comments to heart, especially when I know I am making informed decisions when it comes to nutrition and exercise in pregnancy and motherhood.”

“We aren’t used to seeing strong pregnant women but the reality is that it’s more normal than not.”

The complaints haven’t stopped now that Evaliah is out in the world – Polites received criticism in an Instagram Wednesday, from commenters who said that she’s holding her baby incorrectly.

“Calm down people, I know how to hold my baby safely,” she wrote.

Polites address the mommy-shaming that tends to come on social media in a previous interview with PEOPLE, saying, “I think it’s important not to compare ourselves with other women, there is no right or wrong way to carry a baby and there is no universal standard of what a pregnant body should look like.”
