Danielle Fishel Slams Haters Who Criticized Her Marriage and Weight
"I hope you'll look at your own miserable lives and stop judging others," the newlywed Tweeted
The honeymoon isn’t even over yet for Danielle Fishel, but the Boy Meets World actress has taken to Twitter to slam online haters who criticized her for everything from marrying a younger man to her weight on her wedding day.
“People are giving me s–– for marrying someone younger than I am,” Fishel, 32, Tweeted Sunday, the day after marrying her longtime boyfriend, Tim Belusko, 25, in Los Angeles. “Tim is mature, responsible, loving, & kind. Way to judge people, Internet.”
The couple met when, at the age of 27, Fishel returned to college, where she was Belusko’s math tutor.
The actress continued her online outburst Tuesday after Tweeters commented on her weight at her wedding.
“Ppl saying I was FAT @ my wedding: u r the worst kind of ppl on the PLANET,” she wrote. “I weigh 107 pounds & am 5’1″. YOU are the reason anorexia exists.”
Fishel’s battle with her weight has been a sensitive issue for the actress, who told PEOPLE in 2010 that, at one point, she took laxatives, ate only iceberg lettuce and occasionally threw up.
“I was terrified to eat,” said Fishel, who at 16 weighed only 89 pounds. When she collapsed on set one day, she said, “I realized this was not a game.”
The actress eventually struck up a balanced diet and embraced a healthy lifestyle, telling PEOPLE, “I’ve learned to be comfortable in my own skin.”
That hard-earned confidence no doubt seeped into her Twitter rant, as she urged her detractors to “look at your own miserable lives and learn to stop judging others on their weight and looks. Love and happiness wins again.”
Fishel also managed to inject some humor into her tirade, quipping: “Side note, I plan on coming home from this honeymoon weighing 299 pounds. #love #goodfood #adultbeverages #allday.”
