Major family struggles are on the horizon again for My Giant Life‘s Haleigh Hampton.
Her dad, Tay, was never on board with Haleigh’s, 24, decision to marry husband Brian Carvalho, 32, arguing that she was too young and they didn’t know each other for long enough. And Tay is disagreeing again with the idea of Haleigh moving with Brian to Tennessee for a new job.
Haleigh and Brian tell her parents about his job offer in this exclusive clip from Tuesday’s episode of My Giant Life.
“I don’t want to upset anybody, I don’t want to alienate anybody,” Brian says. “I want to just invite you guys into this in the most honest way possible.”
“Your passion is coaching, I know, and that’s always been my concern, where are they going to take you, and does [Haleigh] go there,” Tay asks Brian.
Making matters even more complicated is that Haleigh isn’t excited about moving either.
“I would be lying if I said that I’m totally 100 percent excited,” she says. “I really love living in California. I’m sad, I don’t want to leave. I wish that this job was closer. But you can’t always get what you want.”
Haleigh would also have to give up on her dreams of playing professional volleyball if she moved with Brian.
“I do feel a little internal pressure that I’m letting myself down,” she admits. “This was my dream forever and now its not going to happen. I don’t want to wake up in ten years and hate myself or hate Brian for ‘giving up’ my playing career. I want to feel fully satisfied and I don’t know if I do yet.”

“What happened to volleyball around the world and all those good things?” Tay asks her.
“What I feel right now, is that I’m okay with stepping back and just focusing on being a good wife,” Haleigh replies.
“I just want to know, is this for him?” Tay asks. “Is he driving you to do this?”
