Shaun T‘s baby boy is already hitting milestones!
Since the Nov. 17 birth of his and husband Scott Blokker’s twin sons Sander Vaughn and Silas Rhys, the proud new dad and celebrity fitness expert has been using Instagram to take his followers through the couple’s first two weeks in new parenthood while the premature babies are still in the NICU.
Among the standout experiences? Little Silas’ car seat test — a procedure recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics for all babies born before 37 weeks gestation to ensure they can sit safely in the car seat and includes trials for breathing, oxygen level and heart rate.
“Will he pass the car seat test tonight?” Shaun T, 39, wrote on his Instagram story, sharing a close-up photo of his adorable son alongside a poll giving his followers the options to vote “I’LL PASS” or “I WON’T PASS.”

Silas was cleared as car-seat ready — and Shaun T couldn’t help but post a few celebratory snaps, including one of the baby boy giving a bit of a side-eye to the camera.
“For all the SHADY FOLK who said I WOULDN’T,” the new dad wrote jokingly atop the photo (only about 5 percent of voters clicked “I WON’T PASS”).
Shaun T and Blokker have been making regular visits to the NICU to spend time with Silas and Sander. In two other clips posted to his Instagram story, the fitness trainer and author of T Is for Transformation shows a wet car seat that Silas urinated on, and hilariously calls out Sander for passing gas.
The couple have been keeping their fans updated on the health progress of their babies, who were born via surrogate at 32 weeks gestation.
“The good news is they’re off the respirator, which is great,” Blokker told PEOPLE shortly after the birth. “They sometimes use the feeding tube and sometimes use the bottle to feed, so we’re actually moving in a great direction.”
“We celebrated some movements last night — meaning from kids into the diapers — so that was a big day for us,” he added with a laugh. “I just didn’t know how to say that. So there are small victories that are amazing.”

The small victories are likely just the first of many throughout Sander and Silas’ lives. As Shaun T — a sexual-abuse survivor — told PEOPLE in early November, his kids will “have a blank canvas” to grow from.
“I want to be the best dad ever. I know Scott is going to be an amazing parent. I’m just excited,” he explained. “I guess this is the nervous parent talking.”
