The 3-year-old girl was surprised with a special gift from Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, on Monday night.
Gadot sent Clarkson two figurines of the iconic DC heroine, along with a signed photograph.
The sweet note on the photo read, “Dearest River Rose, I wish you all the best. Your mom is the true Wonder Woman.”
The singer posted a photograph of her beaming daughter on Twitter, writing, “THANK YOU SO MUCH @gal_gadot for the awesome presents for River!! She LOVES them! You’ve made a little girl very happy #galgadotforthewin.”
In October, the “Stronger” singer, 35, gushed about Gadot, 32, at Variety’s Power of Women event. Clarkson admitted she was “so nervous I’m shaking” when she noticed the actress sitting near the front.
“I am excited… I just saw her. I can’t. She’s Wonder Woman!” Clarkson said from the stage. “I fell like that’s what we were meant to look like.”
Clarkson revealed that Gadot’s portrayal of Wonder Woman was especially meaningful to her because of her daughter.
“The story of Belle [and] the Beast is a little scary,” Clarkson said. “She was in a dungeon, trapped, and they fell in love. Aurora, she just slept it out! But [my daughter] loves Wonder Woman. She’s 3. I probably shouldn’t show it to her. I know I’m being judged, [but] all the grown-up stuff goes over her head. It’s nice to have this bold, female figure for your girl.”
Clarkson continued, “Once she saw the little girl in Wonder Woman defend herself and all that she loved, she started acting it out, and I couldn’t have been more proud. You’re a little proud ‘cause you’re like, ‘Aw, you’re cute in the Belle dress.’ But you’re more proud when she’s like [fighting evil].”
The mother of two also watched Gadot’s appearance on The Tonight Show.
“I was like, ‘You know what? Screw you! Bitch got it all,'” Clarkson said, causing the room to erupt with laughter. “[She’s] awesome at everything and she’s so funny. I was like, ‘Ugh,’ but I love you. I can’t believe I’m looking at you.”
