Soon-to-be dad of three David Arquette is giving all the baby-rearing credit to his pregnant wife Christina at the moment.

“She’s doing good. It’s not easy, it’s so hard. I think the second pregnancy is a little harder than the first. She’s got morning sickness on this one,” the actor, 45, told PEOPLE Wednesday at the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and SAG-AFTRA World Aids Day Panel event in Los Angeles.

Adds the Scream alum, whose son on the way will join 2½-year-old big brother Charlie West, “Being pregnant and watching a little rascal that’s firmly in his terrible twos is pretty difficult. She a trooper, she’s doing great. She’s my hero.”

The baby boy will be Arquette’s third child — he’s also dad to daughter Coco, 12, from his previous marriage to Courteney Cox.

And while Coco has been through the process of becoming an older sibling, it’s Charlie’s first time. But is he ready?

“Charlie is really cute about it. We have little books that prepare him,” the proud dad says of his son becoming a big brother. “We’ll see how it goes when it all goes down. He’s a tricky little bugger.”

The family is ready for the holidays, according to Arquette.

“We’re in full-festive mode. Christina just loves Christmas and all the holidays,” he shares. “We put up garland and we got a tree that’s far too big. Charlie is loving it. It’s really cute to see him fully embrace it.”

In fact, the actor’s little guy might have a pretty amazing, photo-worthy surprise in his near future.

“I’m trying to find him a little mini Santa Claus costume,” Arquette confesses.
