Leonardo DiCaprio will be back at the Oscars as a winner this time — but who will he bring as his date?

The actor finally took home a long-awaited Academy Award last year for his role in The Revenant, which means he’ll be back at the show this year to present the Best Actress category. Although the actor and activist typically brings his mom as his plus-one, the leading man’s date to the big show is technically still a mystery.

DiCaprio has been dating model Nina Agdal since last summer. Agdal confirmed to PEOPLE Thursday night at the relaunch of the Ole Henriksen skincare line in New York that she’ll be attending the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty this year — but didn’t specify whether she’ll be hitting the show with her beau.

“I’ll be going to Vanity Fair,” she said when asked whether she’ll be attending the Oscars this weekend, then dropped a hint about her attire when asked what she might wear. “I don’t know for sure yet, but it’s gonna be good.”

The couple were spotted getting cozy after the Golden Globes this year at host Jimmy Fallon‘s private afterparty, though the actor showed up solo to the earlier ceremony.

They also celebrated the actor’s 42nd birthday together with his mom in mid-November at The Brando on Tetiaroa, the French Polynesian island where Marlon Brando once made his home.

In the past, DiCaprio has most often brought his mom, Irmelin Indenbirken, as his Oscars date. After five nominations, the proud mother was on hand to witness her son win his first Oscar last year, and was later seen sweetly cradling the Best Actor trophy at the Vanity Fair afterparty with the actor.

Indenbirken was also DiCaprio’s date when he was nominated for his first Oscar in 1994, and she joined him again at the show when he was nominated in 2007 and 2014.

But DiCaprio hasn’t always turned to his mom as his Oscars plus-one: He also brought then-girlfriend Gisele Bündchen to the 2005 show when he was nominated for The Aviator. DiCaprio and Bündchen memorably dated for five years in the early 2000s before breaking up in 2005.

Bündchen, of course, has been happily married to five-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady since 2009. The couple has two children together, daughter Vivian, 4, and son Benjamin, 7.

In 2009, the supermodel spoke to Vanity Fair about her ex — and said they remained on good terms after the split.

“Leo is a really wonderful person,” she said. “We still speak sometimes, and I’m friends with his mom … He’s done a lot for the environment, and I admire what he’s done. We know what we had; we were young, and we grew together in a lot of ways. We were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously, and I wish him nothing but the best.”

The Academy Awards kicks off live on ABC on Sunday, Feb. 26, with a 7 p.m. ET pre-show and 8:30 p.m. ceremony. See all the Oscar nominees and get your own ballot here!
