James Corden's Father Adorably Disses His Son at the Tony Awards: 'Let's Get On with It!'
James Corden hosted the 70th annual Tony Awards Sunday night
James Corden‘s father is officially not impressed.
The 2016 Tony Awards host sweetly introduced his “mum and dad” during the telecast Sunday night – and his father seemed less than thrilled with the time it was taking to honor Broadway’s best.
“It’s great, mate, but it’s going on a bit, isn’t it,” he said as Corden burst into a fit of giggles.
“I mean, I’m only here for the party,” his father continued. “Let’s get on with it!”

Corden’s father must have felt a little guilty about the jabs, however, because he quickly added, “Great opening, by the way.”
“Oh come on, Dad. Shut up!” Corden replied with a smile.
But his father proved he’s no Broadway rube when his son asked him whether there was anything he was interested to see.
“Well, there’s a lot about Hamilton … ” he said, as Corden nodded in agreement.
