Congratulations to Hacksaw Ridge!

The Mel Gibson-directed war film received the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by a stunt ensemble in a motion picture, PEOPLE exclusively revealed on the SAG Awards red carpet.

Hacksaw Ridge, which stars Andrew Garfield, Vince Vaughn and Hugo Weaving, reintroduced Gibson to the awards circuit, and has been nominated for multiple awards at the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

The film follows the true tale of a Virginia farm boy-turned-army medic Desmond Doss, played by Garfield, who was credited with saving dozens of soldiers during the Battle of Okinawa despite refusing to carry a weapon or kill his enemies.

Garfield was also nominated for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role at the SAG Awards, competing against Ryan Gosling for La La Land, Denzel Washington in Fences, Casey Affleck in Manchester by the Sea, and Viggo Mortensen in Captain Fantastic.

Other nominees for outstanding performance by a stunt ensemble in a motion picture included Captain America: Civil WarDoctor StrangeJason Bourne and Nocturnal Animals.
