The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards celebrate outstanding film and TV performances

William H. Macy took home the SAG award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series – beating out some of the funniest men on television.

“I have written so many great acceptance speeches that I never got to give, but not tonight!” Macy, 64, joked while accepting his award at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. “To my fellow nominees … nah, forget it, you lost.”

Also nominated were Ty Burrell for Modern Family, Louis C.K. for Louis, Jim Parsons for The Big Bang Theory and Eric Stonestreet for Modern Family.

The award was presented by Claire Danes.

“Thank you Showtime, you’re bodacious, keep on keeping on. To this cast, I don’t know why you all were not nominated, maybe next year,” Macy continued. “And our writers, you need therapy, but you’re very funny.”

The 21st annual SAG Awards, which recognize outstanding film and TV performances over the previous year by the union’s members, aired on TNT and TBS.
