Melissa McCarthy Wins Best Comedic Movie Actress at the People's Choice Awards
"I always feel like I should pinch myself because I can't believe that I can do it," McCarthy said in her acceptance speech
Melissa McCarthy just proved she is a comedian of the people.
The Spy star, 45, nabbed the first trophy at Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards, picking up the award for best comedic movie actress.
“This is so crazy to be up here,” she said after accepting the award from Kate Hudson and Jack Black. “Every time you buy a ticket, every time you go to see a movie, every time you support it you allow me to live out a crazy dream.”
I always feel like I should pinch myself because I can’t believe that I can do it,” she continued.
The actress also thanked her husband, Ben Falcone, who accompanied her to the event, as well as their two daughters.
The star of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot also praised director Paul Feig while onstage.
“I hope I make 75 more movies with him,” she said.
