Inside the Show
Bradley Cooper was one of the most popular celebs in the front row as many came to say their hellos. The Star Is Born director and actor gave Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Rami Malek a hug and then shared one with The Wife‘s Glenn Close, who also took a selfie with presenter Samuel L. Jackson.
Lady Gaga was spotted adorably fixing Malek’s bow tie and giving double kisses to Cooper’s girlfriend Irina Shayk and his mother Gloria Campano.
The Favourite stars (and seatmates!) Nicholas Hoult and Joe Alwyn were spotted taking in the majestic Dolby Theatre as Alwyn captured a panorama of the stage on his cell phone. The pair jumped out of their seats when costar Olivia Colman won the Best Actress award.
Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding asked his costar Gemma Chan to put a pack of snacks in the big pockets of her pink Valentino Haute Couture gown.
After Cooper and Gaga’s duet of “Shallow,” proud girlfriend Shayk was the first to hop out of her seat as the costars received a standing ovation. Cooper kissed and hugged Shayk when he got back down from the stage to his seat.
Malek was treated by paramedics after he fell from the stage into the audience area after the ceremony had concluded.
Last year’s Best Actress winner Frances McDormand rocked yellow Birkenstock x Valentino sandals under her gown.
BlacKkKlansman director Spike Lee gave Jennifer Lopez a huge compliment about her glitzy Tom Ford dress. “I saw you walk in and I had to scratch the back of my neck,” he said as her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez stood by her side.
Following their opening performance, Adam Lambert, Brian May and the rest of Queen were taking in the claps and congratulations as they exited the stage. “Thank you, thank you!” a beaming Lambert said while a member of the band yelled, “We did it!”
After presenting Best Production Design with Chris Evans, Lopez grabbed her purse and a small plate of cheese she had stashed.
Cooper and Gaga hugged tightly as they made their way off the stage after their “Shallow” performance. “Did I nail it?” the singer asked the crew, before telling her costar, “I’m so f—ing proud of you!”
After her Best Original Song win, Gaga had tears streaming down her face as she held her Oscar. “I need a drink. Is there champagne?” she said before drinking an entire glass of champagne.
Captain Marvel star Chan’s pink dress got caught under Sam Elliott’s daughter’s chair and it took several people to remove.
At the Governors Ball, Malek shook a huge champagne bottle and opened it by spraying everyone in the engraving room, as seen in an Entertainment Tonight video.
Colman was the belle of the Governors Ball as she was one of the night’s winners who was surrounded by well-wishers.
