Josh Singer and Tom McCarthy have the “write” stuff!

The pair took home the 2016 Academy Award for Best Writing (Original Screenplay) for Spotlight, presented by Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron, on Sunday night.

After a quick quip from Theron about all writers being hot (read: “a writer wrote that!”), Singer and McCarthy took the stage to accept the award.

“For the survivors, whose courage and will to overcome is really an inspiration to us all. We have to make sure this never happens again,” said McCarthy, who has three nominations tonight, including one for Best Director.
