Feast nabbed the Best Animated Short Film Oscar on Sunday, beating out four others.
The rest of the category’s lineup included The Bigger Picture by Daisy Jacobs and Christopher Hees, The Dam Keeper by Robert Kondo and Dice Tsutsumi, Torill Kove’s Me and My Moulton and Joris Oprins’s A Single Life.
Patrick Osborne and Kristina Reed accepted the award for Feast. It is their first Oscar.
“The shorts are so freaking amazing this year,” Osborne said.
According to The Academy’s official rules, an animated film is created by using a frame-by-frame technique, and it usually falls into one of two general categories of animation: character or abstract.
The short must also have a run time of 40 minutes or less, including the credits.
The 2015 Oscars, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris from the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, are airing live on ABC.
