Aspiring stars, take note!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences asked Oscar winners and members of the Academy what they wish someone had told them before they began working in the movies.

The answers range from humorous anecdotes to practical career advice to words of inspiration.

Kate Winslet says she wishes “somebody would have told me that the size of my ass was something I should have spent waaaay less time worrying about!”

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o offers a handy list of 10 things she recommends nominees do when attending the awards ceremony, including “carry something sweet to nibble on that doesn’t crackle too much.”

These words of wisdom have been compiled in a first-ever Oscars notebook now available for purchase.
