With 30 Rock wrapped and her wedding officially in the books, right now might seem like the perfect time for Katrina Bowden to have a baby.

But the actress begs to differ.

“Everybody keeps asking when we’re going to have kids. We just got married. I’m like, ‘No, we’re not going to have kids for a while,’ ” Bowden, 25, told PEOPLE on the Emmys red carpet Sunday night while clad in her Badgley Mischka gown.

The actress wed musician Ben Jorgensen, 30, in May after a year-and-a-half engagement. They tied the knot in Brooklyn after planning the wedding themselves – and are officially in the midst of newlywed bliss.

“Being a newlywed is amazing. It doesn’t really feel a whole lot different than being a non-newlywed,” shares Bowden, who says she begins filming an indie comedy-drama in two weeks.

One thing that probably adds to that newlywed glow?

“We just got back from our honeymoon last week,” she reports. “We went to Hawaii for two weeks and it was amazing!”
