Idris Elba is feeling the love at the BAFTA Awards.

Elba, 43, stepped out on Sunday in London to attend the BAFTA Awards, which happened to fall on Valentine’s Day this year – something the actor couldn’t help but notice.

“I feel good. It’s a lovely night, it’s Valentine’s night,” he said while walking the red carpet. “There’s love in the air and it’s my first BAFTAs, so I’m super excited.”

The actor received his first BAFTA nomination this year, hoping to take home the award for best actor for his performance in Beasts of No Nation.

Elba walked the red carpet solo, following reports that he split from his longtime girlfriend, Naiyana Garth.

He cut a dapper figure, wearing a sleek dark suit with a matching shirt and bow tie for the awards show.

While talking to reporters, Elba also commented on his upcoming turn in Star Trek Beyond.

“I’ve done it and I can’t wait for people to see it,” he said of the highly anticipated film, which opens July 22.
