The Weeknd wins big at this year's 58th Grammy Awards

That’s two for the Weeknd!

Abel Tesfaye, Canadian R&B mastermind behind the Weeknd racked up two awards at Monday night’s 58th Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album.

The artist’s first win for Best R&B Performance salutes his mega-hit, “Earned It,” which is featured on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. The Weeknd, beat out Tamar Braxtn, Andra Day, Hiatus Kaiyote and Jeremih for the award.

Moments later, The Weeknd was awarded the Best Urban Contemporary Award for the album “Beauty Behind The Madness,” beating out The Internet’s “Ego Death,” Kehlani’s “You Should Be Here,” Lianne La Havas’ “Blood,” and Miguel’s “Wildheart.”

The double win signifies a great start for the Weeknd, who is up for seven nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards, including coveted awards Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
