The singer graced the Grammys red carpet in a trim suit
Sam Smith is opening up about his sleek new physique.
Before taking the Grammys stage to present, the British singer hit up the red carpet Monday night, where he spoke about his trim transformation.
“I’ve just not eaten like a pig anymore – that’s what I’m doing, basically,” 23-year-old Smith – looking sharp in a shapely, dark suit – told CBS.
When asked about his exercise regimen, the four-time Grammy winner said it doesn’t entail much working out, though, “I have been the last week.”
Last year, Smith thanked nutritional therapist and Eat. Nourish. Glow. author Amelia Freer for his slimmer frame and healthier outlook on living; then in the fall, he told Today‘s Natalie Morales he’d lost nearly 50 pounds. But when the “Stay with Me” singer posted a shot on Instagram last week revealing a seemingly even slighter figure, some fans expressed concern over his health on social media.
Later this month, the singer will perform at the Oscars, where his 007 ode “Writing’s on the Wall (from Spectre)” is up for the Best Original Song honor. And he’s working on new tunes, too.
“I am writing new music, but I’m not there yet,” he told CBS. “But I’m enjoying myself: taking time, seeing my family, trying to be normal so I can write something relatable – hopefully.”
