He almost did it again!

Kanye West caused collective déjà vu at the Grammy Awards Sunday night after Beck was presented with the album of the year award – from Prince, no less.

As the singer, who also won in the best rock album category, took the stage and his trophy, West followed him and pretended that he was going to try and swipe the mic.

At the 2009 Video Music Awards in New York City, West famously interrupted Taylor Swift, grabbing the mic from her and protesting that Beyoncé should have won because “Single Ladies,” he claimed, was one of the best videos of all time.

Though West appeared to be joking at the Grammys – wife Kim Kardashian was laughing in the audience with John Legend and Chrissy Teigen – Beyoncé was also up for album of the year.

Beck seemed to like the joke, asking West to come back. “I need some help,” he said.

But after the awards show, West got serious as he went on a diatribe at E!’s live after-party.

“I don’t know what he even said, I just know the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more,” he said of Beck, quoting Beyoncé herself and calling her video “flawless.”

“Beck needs to respect artistry,” West insisted, “and he should have given his award to Beyoncé.”
