From Pharrell's Mountie to Madonna's Fedora: All the Best Hats from the 2014 Grammys

Pharrell Williams and Madonna turned the Grammys into a festival of millinery

When Pharrell Williams strolled into the Grammys wearing an oversize Royal Canadian Mountie hat, it immediately became the Internet’s favorite Grammy-night accessory. He also launched the official trend of the night on the red carpet and inside the Staples Center – lots and lots of hats.

While these stars’ headgear may have been less Canadian than Pharrell’s showstopper, they all brought their own individual flair to the millinery game. Check out the maddest hatters below.

Madonna (Part 1)

Madge took a page out of the Shadow‘s book with this noir-inspired fedora, chosen by her son David Banda.

Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono

She may be an awkward dancer, but even at 80 years old, Ono remains a great dresser.

Willie Nelson

Turns out, Nelson’s cowboy hat comes in black-tie formal as well.

LL Cool J

The host with the most took on Grammy monologue duties wearing his latest, famous Kangol-style cap.

Gavin DeGraw

Justin Timberlake wasn’t in attendance Sunday night, so DeGraw was left to represent the trilby.

Ben Harper

Is that a Blues Brother? No, it’s Grammy winner (for best blues album) Ben Harper!

Pharrell Williams

For his “Get Lucky” performance alongside Daft Punk and Stevie Wonder, Williams brought out his second hat of the night, an Indiana Jones fedora that was almost demure by comparison.

Madonna (Part 2)

She was performing “Open Your Heart,” but Madonna’s white cowboy hat during Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s “Same Love” performance/marriage ceremony was a throwback to her early 2000s “Music” getup.
