Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett beat some of the top pop stars on Sunday night when they took home the Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album for Cheek to Cheek.

They were up against Night Songs by Barry Manilow, Nostalgia by Annie Lennox, Partners by Barbra Streisand, and Sending You a Little Christmas by Johnny Mathis.

The pair are set to perform a duet together later on Sunday evening.

“I’m humbled to be nominated & performing @TheGRAMMYs w an incredible man,” Gaga Tweeted late Tuesday night alongside a photo of her smooching the ageless, 87-year-old jazz crooner. “Honoring a legend, I stand proudly behind him.”

Gaga told PEOPLE in July that she and the 88-year-old singer became fast friends while recording the record, despite the fact that she was initially “so nervous” to meet him.

“I fixed my hair, and my mom was fixing her makeup, and then we went back to meet him,” Gaga said. “He said, ‘Do you want to do a jazz album together?’ And I said, ‘Yes, of course I do!’ ”

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards, hosted by LL Cool J for the fourth year in a row, are airing live on CBS.
