Taylor Kinney wanted to make sure his fiancée Lady Gaga had a perfect night at the Golden Globes.

Gaga, 29, revealed that Kinney, 34, turned down the opportunity to take the stage at the award ceremony to make sure all eyes were on his wife-to-be.

“Do you want to know something wonderful?” Gaga told PEOPLE. “They asked him to present tonight but he said no because he just wanted it to be my night and he wanted to support me.”

“Isn’t that special? I just found that out,” she said.

With a relationship like that, it’s no wonder Gaga can’t help but gush about Kinney whenever she gets the chance.

“I love him so much,” she said with a smile. ” I do [have a good one].”

Earlier in the night Gaga said that she was a bit nervous to be attending the Golden Globes, admitting that she turned to the heavens to help cure her pre-show jitters.

“I had a glass of wine and cigarette and said a prayer in the car,” she told NBC.

The songstress is being praised for her acting chops for her performance as a seductive vampire in American Horror Story: Hotel, for which she is nominated for best actress in a limited series/TV movie.

“I’m feeling really great,” she said. “I’m just happy to be here.”

Gaga hit the red carpet with Kinney by her side. The two were all smiles as they stopped and posed for pictures together.

The two wore complementary looks for the occasion, with Gaga in a stunning black gown that showed off her trim waist and Kinney wearing a sleek black tux with a matching bow tie.

The 73rd annual Golden Globes, hosted by Ricky Gervais, are being presented live from Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC.
