Michael Keaton thanked his son Sean Douglas, 31, in his acceptance speech for the best actor in a musical or comedy award during the Golden Globes, calling Douglas his “best friend.”

“My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful,” said a teary Keaton. “Did I say kind? He also – he also happens to be my son Sean. I love with you all my heart, buddy.”

Douglas (who uses his dad’s original surname: Michael started using “Keaton” to avoid confusion with Michael Douglas and to pay tribute to Buster Keaton) is Keaton’s son with Caroline McWilliams.

But Sean Douglas is much more than just Keaton’s son (and again, best friend): He’s also a singer-songwriter based in L.A., who has had a hand in all kinds of recent hits, including “Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle” by Jason Derulo and “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato. (He has worked with Madonna, Michael Bolton and The Backstret Boys, too.)

Here’s a video of Douglas serenading his wife Rachel at their wedding in August 2014 – see if you can spot his proud dad at various points in the clip.
