Caitlyn Jenner's 'I Am Cait', Adam Lambert and 'Carol' Among GLAAD Media Award Nominees

GLAAD announced a total of 147 English- and Spanish-langugae nominees to be honored for what GLAAD says are fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBT community and the issues that affect the lives of LGBT people.

Caitlyn Jenner‘s reality show I Am Cait, Adam Lambert, and Carol are among the nominees for the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, the nation’s LGBT media advocacy organization announced Wednesday.

GLAAD announced a total of 147 English- and Spanish-langugae nominees to be honored for what GLAAD says are fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBT community and the issues that affect the lives of LGBT people.

Jenner, who was public about her transition from male to female at the age of 65, is being recognized for her E! reality show I Am Cait and the 20/20 interview she did with Diane Sawyer to address her desire to transition publicly for the first time.

Jazz Jennings, one of the youngest children to identify as transgender, is also being recognized for her TLC show, I Am Jazz.

Lambert, “The Ghost Town” crooner who has been openly gay since his stint on American Idol in 2009, received a nod for his latest album, The Original High.

Also nominated was the film Carol, which portrays Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara as forbidden lovers.

Other nominees include FOX’s Empire, Orange Is the News Black on Netflix and The Danish Girl, which was inspired by the life of transgender Danish artist Lilli Elbe in the 1920s.

The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in Los Angeles on April 2 at The Beverly Hilton and in New York on May 14 at the Waldorf Astoria New York.
