The biggest night in television is finally upon us.
Naturally, we’ve got our fridges and wine racks stocked and ready for takeoff. To help ensure that you, too, reach the proper level of boozy bliss during Sunday’s Emmy Awards, we’ve devised a fun and effective drinking game that’s perfect for the whole of-legal-drinking-age family.
When a pre-taped segment starring host Jimmy Kimmel starts, you have until the end of it to down your drink.
Sip when you see a Game of Thrones actor laughing – and take a shot if they claim a statuette.
Sip if a speech makes you teary-eyed or someone cries while giving a speech.
Sip if you spot one celeb whispering to another.
Married people take a sip when someone thanks their spouse.
Take a shot if a first-time nominee (like Tom Hiddleston, Rami Malek, Kit Harington or Ellie Kemper) wins.
Sip every time a presidential nominee’s name is dropped.
Sip every time Kimmel makes fun of a friend.
Everyone under 40 (but older than 21, of course) take a shot if a former child star wins.
Clink glasses with everyone in the room and then sip if a Netflix show wins.
Sip when anyone laughs at his or her own joke.
Sip the person to your right’s drink if The Affair wins.
Finish your drink if Julia Louis-Dreyfus wins outstanding lead actress in a comedy series (again).
The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will broadcast live Sunday on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
