The Glee kids can dance, but Modern Family‘s Nolan Gould – fresh off his show’s big night at the Emmy Awards – thinks he could show them a move or two.

“It is better to come to a party as a winner than a loser,” the 12-year-old actor, who plays Luke on the ABC sitcom, told PEOPLE with a smile while arriving at the 20th Century Fox TV and FX Emmy After-Party Sunday night.

So, would there be any trash talking between the Modern Family and Glee camps inside the party?

“No, just dance-offs,” Gould replied. “Me and Rico [Rodriguez, who plays Manny] are always doing dance-offs to techno on the set. I could have a shot against some of those Glee kids.”

But of course, it’s all in good fun. “No, we are all really good friends,” says Gould. “That’s how it is. Whoever wins, wins. You can’t take it personally. It is not in your hands.”

He may be only 12 – and an active Mensa member, to boot – but Gould was planning on engaging in some serious partying on Sunday.

“We have a week off, so I can party hard. I have a week to recover,” he says. “What if I just didn’t go home tonight? They would come up and tap me on the shoulder on Thursday and be like, ‘Dude, you know this party ended three days ago, right?’ ”
