A $200,000 donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital will be made in the Ellen DeGeneres Show host's name

Ellen DeGeneres is getting recognized for doing good.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show host will receive the People’s Choice Awards‘ Favorite Humanitarian honor during the show’s ceremony Wednesday.

“I am so honored to be receiving the People’s Choice Humanitarian Award,” DeGeneres said in a statement. “I think it sums me up perfectly as I am both a human and an itarian.”

Walgreens is donating $200,000 to the charity of DeGeneres’ choice, and she has chosen St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the beneficiary. DeGeneres is receiving the award for helping communities in need and raising awareness of organizations that make a difference in people’s lives.

Recent winners of the honor include Ben Affleck (2015), Jennifer Hudson (2014) and Sandra Bullock (2013).

The People’s Choice Awards airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
