Natalie Portman and Colin Firth Are Critics' Choice Winners
The Black Swan and The King's Speech stars were honored Friday night in Hollywood
One down and one to go!
The stars of Black Swan and The King’s Speech, respectively, both picked up best acting awards but their films lost out in the best picture category to the film about Facebook, The Social Network.
Christian Bale was named best supporting actor for his role in The Fighter and his costar in that pugilistic picture, Melissa Leo, was named best supporting actress.
Hailee Steinfeld, 14, picked up the award for best young actor or actress for her role in the Coen brothers’ western True Grit.
Other winners of the night included best director David Fincher for The Social Network, Leonardo DiCaprio‘s mind-bender Inception for best action movie, Easy A for best comedy and Toy Story 3 for best animated feature.
Many of the winners and nominees at the Critics’ Choice Awards will be back on the red carpet on Sunday night for another round of glamour at the Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
