Critics' Choice Awards: John Krasinski Crashes Emily Blunt's Acceptance Speech for a Kiss
Blunt won best actress in an action movie for her role in Edge of Tomorrow
What’s better than thanking your hubby in an acceptance speech? Kissing him on stage!
John Krasinski showed he still has some Jim Halpert-style tricks up his sleeve, surprising wife Emily Blunt as she accepted the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for best actress in an action movie Thursday night.
“Yes!” Krasinski, 35, cried after Blunt won for her role in Edge of Tomorrow, rushing out from backstage.
“He’s presenting next,” Blunt, 31, explained after smooching her man. “Sorry, ruined that.”
We forgive you. After all, Blunt definitively proved that she and The Office star – who welcomed daughter Hazel last February – are the cutest couple in Hollywood.
“Finally, to my sneaky husband, John Krasinski, for being okay with the fact that he was married to a veiny, sinewy wrestler for the duration of this film, and also coming up with my favorite line ever which was, ‘I’m terrified I’m gonna wake up one morning and you’re benching me,’ ” she said. “Which I did, just to kind of freak him out.”
Then, Blunt turned full-on bad ass.
“It’s the greatest thing in the world to not be a damsel in distress in an action movie – ah, so cool!” she said as the crowd cheered. “And I will just be forever grateful for the title of full-metal bitch.”
