Chloë Grace Moretz was in good spirits yesterday despite hobbling through LAX on crutches and wearing a knee brace on her right leg.

According to her rep, the actress, 17, suffered a “slight sprain” while doing one of her own stunts in the film The Fifth Wave, which is currently shooting in Atlanta.

Moretz is in L.A. to make an appearance at the first-ever PEOPLE Magazine Awards, airing tonight, Thursday, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

Moretz took to Twitter earlier today to explain her injury. Replying to a fan, she wrote: “thank you so much it’s just a light sprain and I’m being extra careful.”

In the film, the actress portrays one of the last surviving human beings in a world destroyed by an alien invasion.

The Fifth Wave hits theaters in January 2016.
