Gwen Stefani took the stage at the American Music Awards Sunday night, just a few weeks after her romance with country crooner Blake Shelton went public, setting Voice fans and the music world abuzz.

Stefani performed her new hit, “Used to Love You,” alongside an A-list lineup for the annual event that included Carrie Underwood, Coldplay, Justin Bieber and One Direction.

The No Doubt singer actually spent the evening sitting next to a friend of Shelton’s: Luke Bryan, who has ribbed his buddy about the new romance. (Shelton did not attend the award show.)

PEOPLE confirmed earlier this month that the two reality TV judges are dating.

Their coupling comes just months after Shelton announced he was divorcing fellow country star Miranda Lambert and Stefani announced she was divorcing Gavin Rossdale.

But just because Shelton, 39, and Stefani, 46, come from different musical worlds doesn’t mean they don’t make a good fit.

“He seemed very smitten,” a source told PEOPLE last week, of Shelton and Stefani attending a private dinner party in L.A. “Gwen was giddy and very flirty. They were both happy.”
